Bayshore Community Counseling Services, Inc. (BCCS) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a long history of local leadership, civic engagement, and community impact that is vital to ensuring communities are vibrant, resilient, and strong. Initially, Bayshore developed as a community-based agency to generate additional resources to serve the citizens of the Town of Crisfield located in Somerset County, Maryland. Bayshore served as the catalyst for community organizations and individuals to work together to leverage their network to strengthen the Town of Crisfield for community-level change. Overtime, Bayshore has developed to become a comprehensive community, family, and individual social, health, and economic service agency.

Current Programs and Services for BCCS fall into six focus areas: (1) Education, (2) Prevention and Treatment Services, (3) Professional and Organizational Development, (4) Research, Data Assimilation, and Information Dissemination, (5) Network Building, and (6) Training

Bayshore Community Counseling Services aims to leverage the Strategic Prevention Framework – Partnerships for Success (SPF-PFS) grant program to address substance abuse and mental health challenges within Maryland’s lower eastern shore communities, particularly among youth and young adults. This program aligns with Bayshore’s mission of promoting wellness and resilience through prevention and early intervention strategies by

1.Targeting underage drinking, opioid misuse, and other prevalent substance use issues on the lower eastern shore.

2. Strengthening partnerships with local schools, faith-based organizations, law enforcement, and other stakeholders.

3. Developing tailored programs to meet the unique cultural and socioeconomic needs of Bayshore residents.

4. Utilizing local data to identify substance abuse trends and prioritize intervention efforts.
